Selim ElGarhy
Selim ElGarhy is a multimedia designer and illustrator and junior student of architecture at the American University in Cairo. His artistic work is heavily inspired by Egyptian architecture, urbanism, comic art, and fantasy, working mainly with ink and digital art. His research interests include sustainable urban development, heritage conservation and revitalization, and integration of traditional design with emerging architectural technologies.
ElGarhy participated in Film My Design's Emerging Local Talents (ELT) program in 2022, co-creating and design directing the Om El Dunya film at the FMD Film Festival, which explored the effects of Cairo’s congested built environment and loss of green spaces on creativity. In 2023, he participated in the fourth and fifth editions of the Cairo Prints exhibition by Cairopolitan. His interests span travelling, theatre, and exhibition production.
